What’s up with LIVEº
One of the things that helps people get a better understanding of what we are all about here at LIVEº is to share what is going on in the day-to-day functioning. We are just a few simple people trying to make a difference for the cause of Christ. Here is what is going on:
Teams:
We are accepting applications for the Rwanda 08 and India 08 teams. We have had a few people fill out the preliminary information forms and begin the formal application process. We anticipate these teams filling up pretty fast. Both teams will have limited space as the locations they will be serving can only handle a small team. If you have interest in being a part of either team you will need to let us know by the end on the year. The deadline for all the application work is Jan 8, 2008—that means everything has to be in by then. There are a number of important steps in the process so please don’t hesitate. Future locations:
We are working with several locations for future teams.
Brazil is one of the stand-out locations. We have been in dialogue with some missionaries and some nationals about working in a program that helps people out of some very difficult situations including drug addiction and prostitution. The details for this team still need to be finalized. Keep praying that this will all get worked out. Stay tuned for more information.
Costa Rica is another location we are considering. The national group we would be working with has some pretty significant plans for holistic ministry but has been unable to field the personnel necessary to get it up and going. LIVEº could play a critical role is spearheading holistic ministry in Costa Rica.
East Timor is the other location that is on the docket for LIVEº. We are just about to work out the final details on this team and should be accepting applications by the end of the year. Look for this one to be on the fast-track soon as we have also been working out a partnership with the evangelical Free Church of Singapore to have a combined team. I am planning on being in East Timor in early November to work out the details.
Staff:
In October Kim, Jason, and Doug will be in California speaking at several churches that have expressed interest in LIVEº.
We also have two staff members that are currently raising their support and will hopefully join our team early in 08. Pray for Karen and Sam as they talk with individuals and churches to raise the needed support.
